Dental Health is just as important in dogs as it is in humans, as lack of dental hygiene can result in a build up of plaque, gum disease, bad teeth, infections, teeth abscesses, tooth loss and bad breath

None of this is pleasant or healthy for your dog and can be very painful.  While your vet can offer a scale & polish this can only be done under a general anaesthetic so it is always a good idea to do all we can to keep our dog’s mouths healthy.

Some signs of dental disease are easy to spot – bad breath, bleeding gums etc but some are less obvious:-

  • Difficulty eating or choosing to only eat softer food
  • Gums bleeding when eating or playing
  • Reluctance to be handled around the mouth or play with toys
  • Lump or swelling on the face or neck
  • Unusually quiet or lethargic
  • Grumpy or irritable

Dogs are very stoic and as they need to eat they will try to carry on as normal despite any pain or discomfort so it is up to us to check their mouths and keep an eye out for any behaviour changes

We recommend using our Healthy Dental Sticks every day and also brushing their teeth if you can.

Check your dogs teeth regularly and always ask the vet to have a quick look whenever you visit.

To help you get started, we are taking 10% Off our Healthy, Grain Free Dental Sticks for the whole of February
